My name is Carolyn W. Treasure, I hail from the country of Jamaica. I came to the USA when I was 19 years old and started college at Monroe in New Rochelle, NY, where I earned an Associates, degree in Accounting and a Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration.
I started out with the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau by volunteering in the Safe Haven Afterschool Program at Graham School, my daughter who was in the 7th grade at the time was also a participant in the GEM afterschool program and helped to tutor students in reading at the Safe Haven Afterschool program.
In 2015, I became an official member of the Youth Bureau family, first as an afterschool TA, then in 2018 the Safe Haven Summer Camp Coordinator, and a temporary fill in at the Youth bureau main office for the Safe Haven/GEM program Director. In the fall of said year I was appointed to the position of being the Assistant to the Executive Director. In 2019, I became the Program Director for Safe Haven and GEM programs.
Working at the Youth Bureau is like being home with family, we look out for each other and support each other’s endeavors.
The key to our success is that we are passionate and genuinely care about the youths’ and their future!!!!
