Mount Vernon Police are investigating a shooting that left one man injured. At around 6:45 AM on Thursday, July 27, 2023, Mount Vernon Police responded to the area of 37 Pearl Street, on a report of shots fired with a person struck. Upon arrival officers located a male, later identified as 28-year-old, Camron Jackson, of Mount Vernon, suffering from a gunshot wound to his right shoulder. Mr. Jackson was transported to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to make a complete recovery. Mount Vernon Detectives are investigating the incident.
