The Mount Vernon Youth Bureau GEM program will host a Pre-Kwanzaa celebration that will encompass the seven-day celebration. We focus on the seven principles, lighting the kinara and showcasing the talents of the GEM program participants. 

This years’ celebration will be the 7th annual staging which began in 2014 but missed out years 2020 and 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.We are excited to bring back this tradition to the Mount Vernon community on December 18th, 2022 in the form of brunch setting where we all get dressed in our Sunday best and fellowship with each other.
