Public Remote Participation Procedure
Remote Participation Procedures for City Council Meetings and Public Hearings
This procedure applies to all City Council regular meetings and Public Hearings. Meetings are held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month and on the 2nd Wednesday for the months of July and August.

To speak: The Council has established remote participation registration procedures for those
who would like to speak during the meeting.
These procedures have been instituted to protect public health, pursuant to Chapter 1 of the Laws of 2022 which amends Sections 1 and 2 of Part E of Chapter 417 of the Laws of 2021 which amended Article 7 of the Public Officers Law (“the Open Meetings Law”), which allows public bodies to meet and take action during a hybrid meeting, allowing for the use of video conferencing. When you register (Regular Meeting Topics), you may advise on what topics you would like
to speak on. Public Hearing topics DO NOT require prior registration.
To speak during the Public Comment Session (Non-Public Hearing Topics), please contact the Office of the City Clerk at 914-665-2348 by 3 PM the day of the meeting, to be placed on the public speakers list.
Public hearing comments may also be submitted in writing by emailing the City Clerk at cityclerk@cmvny.com or mailing them to the Clerk of the City of Mount Vernon, 1 Roosevelt Square, Rm. 104, Mount Vernon, NY 10550.
Written comments must be received by 3PM Day of Meeting
